Other councillors and officials along with pantomime characters from Actonepanto, Santa Claus and members of the public attended the ceremony.

Councillor Beaty Bainbridge who organised the event said, “I thought the panto characters were fantastic, and the children loved them, and it was great to get Santa to drop in and hand out sweets to the children. Gratefull thanks have to go to Mick Rogers from Pelton Community Centre, without whose help we would not have been able to get the panto team. It was a great start for Christmas festivities in Chester-le-Street”.

The Actonepanto ‘Alice in Pantoland’ will stage a performance at the Pelton Fell Community Centre on Thursday December 8th starting at 6.30pm.

Picture shows L-R Beatrice Pearson, ‘Alice’ (played by Nicki Hannam) and Vice Chair of Durham County Council Linda Marshall.
